On a fall day before basketball season’s start, University of Cincinnati women’s coach Jamelle Elliott began her day like any other - which is to say she had a million things to do. There were players to talk to, organizations to reach, speaking engagements to prepare for, media to meet and, if there was an uninterrupted moment, time to breathe. It was everything Elliott imagined a head coaching job would be - or at least the job she wanted. She left her 12-year position as a Connecticut assistant to rebuild the Bearcats’ program. “Having your own stamp on a program that started at a certain place, and just seeing the progression and growth of a program, is really intriguing to me,” Elliott said. “And obviously that’s the situation here at UC.”
