The Scarlet Knights, who open their season hosting No. 2 Stanford Sunday afternoon, want more from Junaid now. She spent three years as Kia Vaughn’s understudy in the post. But Vaughn graduated and joined the WNBA’s Liberty. Another starter, forward Heather Zurich, also graduated. The inside burden now falls to Junaid, who started nine times last season and averaged 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds a game. She will be backed up by a pair of freshmen, 6-4 New Yorker Christine Huber and 6-2 McDonald’s All-American Monique Oliver.
